Frequently Asked Questions

Freight Brace is a uniquely designed product that prevents individually palletized loads from shifting or causing damage during transit. Made from HDPE and aluminum, the lightweight apparatus works in combination with other cargo securement devices, such as load lock bars or cargo straps, to secure freight in place. Freight Brace is patented and the only product in the marketplace specifically designed to secure both single pallets and multiple pallets effectively. Freight Brace is made in the USA and is completely recyclable.

Designed for effortless use, Freight Brace features large handles that make carrying and positioning simple for virtually anyone. Its durable, lightweight plastic construction is strong enough to handle the rigors of the road, while metal engagement feet slide easily under any standard pallet, providing added support and security in transit. Multiple restraint receiving systems at various heights ensure that palletized materials — whether stacked high or low — stay firmly in place during transport. Freight Brace also works seamlessly with cargo bars, load bars, and cargo straps, offering the flexibility to secure one or multiple pallets as needed.

Yes, Freight Brace is proudly invented and manufactured in the USA. It was created by Howard Ridgeway, a veteran truck driver with nearly 30 years of experience on the road. His firsthand knowledge of freight challenges led to the development of this practical, driver-friendly solution that’s built to meet real-world demands.

Freight Brace is versatile enough to secure both single pallets, multiple pallets, and certain other freight such as caged IBC totes or stacked FIBC’s. It features restraint receiving systems at different heights to accommodate various load sizes, ensuring that your cargo stays secure no matter the quantity.

Some companies rely on shrink wrap for cargo securement, but it’s not a foolproof solution. While it helps, it doesn’t offer the same level of stability as Freight Brace. Unlike shrink wrap, Freight Brace locks cargo in place with load bars or cargo straps, preventing shifting and reducing damage, making it a more reliable option for securing loads.

Load bars for semi-trailers are often used to hold cargo in place, but they are insufficient for securing freight by themselves. While load bars can reduce movement, they have a small coverage area. This limitation allows cargo to jostle as the trailer moves, which can result in damage to boxes and bruising of produce. Freight Brace spreads the coverage area out. Designed as a rigid wall of security, Freight Brace works in combination with load bars to significantly dampen product movement.

Freight Brace serves as a buffer that provides a wider contact area and keeps straps from cutting into boxes and other freight containers. Freight Brace helps protect load edges/corners by spreading the contact surface area to the Freight Brace panel. Freight Brace can work in combination with cargo straps to restrict cargo movement.

Freight Brace acts as a highly effective protective barrier, designed to prevent palletized loads from shifting, falling, or impacting one another during transit. By locking cargo securely in place, Freight Brace ensures that your freight stays stable even in the event of sudden stops, turns, or impact forces.

Not only does it protect your cargo, but it also keeps drivers safe when unloading. When a truck is opened after transit, unsecured freight can pose a serious hazard, potentially falling onto drivers or dock workers. Freight Brace prevents this by securing the load and ensuring it remains in place, reducing the likelihood of accidents.

Freight Brace is tested to meet the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) guidelines for freight securement, offering a trusted solution that helps minimize the risk of cargo loss, injury, and insurance claims. With Freight Brace in place, you can rest assured that your cargo is secure and that your drivers and workers are protected from the dangers of shifting or falling loads.
